Bridging Cutting-Edge Research and Real-World Humanoid Robotics: We Meet the Jožef Stefan Institute

The Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS) hosted a working meeting between its leading researchers and our team, bringing together decades of scientific excellence with our fast-moving real-world implementation of humanoid robotics.

We met with Andrej Gams, Head of the Humanoid and Cognitive Robotics Laboratory, and Ales Ude, Head of the Department of Automatics, Biocybernetics and Robotics. Dr. Gams and Dr. Ude introduced us to more than 40 years of pioneering robotics research at IJS, a legacy that firmly places the institute among the most advanced research centres in Europe and worldwide.

On our side, Miha Golčer, Luka Slapnik, Klemen Gradišar and Sara Slapnik presented our progress in developing our Humanoid Robots as a Service (HRaaS) platform and our AI cognitive voice platform, which enables robots to communicate intelligently, contextually and naturally.

A highlight of the visit was experiencing the institute’s humanoid robot Talos, followed by a live demonstration from our humanoid robot Jože. Jože showcased advanced speech and communication capabilities, as well as dynamic movement including dance and kung fu.

Beyond the demonstrations, we discussed strategic collaboration, exploring synergies between research and go-to-market humanoid solutions, a key step toward scaling humanoid robotics into real-world industries.

We are honoured to collaborate with one of Slovenia’s and Europe’s most respected research institutions, and we thank Dr. Gams, Dr. Ude and all the researchers who took part in this exchange of knowledge. The future of humanoid robotics will be built together, research and industry, science and execution.
